New Prompts

This month's prompt is Keep Warm!, a prompt with a loose concept of just drawing a sap being warm and cozy. This prompt also has a LIMITED TIMED USER BOARDER!! This means if you don't complete the prompt in time, you'll be missing out on the boarder. The prompt goes on until the 10th of Jan, end of day site time.

Surprise, surprise! There's another new prompt and this one is forever!~

The long awaited writting gift prompt is here!
Writers now have a second option for collecting site currency!
ALSO, moving forward, 2 of the SOTMs will always have yes to both writing and drawing, so writers always have some options for getting extra Baby Stars. Please check out the prompt if you're a writer!~

It's Winter time!

Hello, hello! It's the last month of the year! That means a mixture of different winter seasonal holidays are going to be happening back to back. Many people will be busy this time of year, so we're keeping things light and easy for everyone. This means that the monthly prompt will not request a background this month so it can be more easily fitted into people's schedule!

There's also an event this month, new GAs (to be announced on the 5th), and general updates on what's next!

ALSO, next month is also a start to a new year. This means that we will start allowing repeats on SotM. So there's a small chance that saps you have seen throughout the year will reappear next year. Though, Saps will not appear twice during the same calendar year.

December Prompt!

I'm finishing up some art work for the promo image of the prompt for this month, so that will be up in the coming days. 

With that said, the prompt will have some extra time added to it, not only for the delay but also to account for the holidays.

Upcoming News and general updates 

• There is some exciting news in the works, we're been working hard on getting things ready. You'll be heading more about this portion of news this month and next. 
• Did you know the species is almost a year old now? The site was made on February 22nd and the species opened up in March! Maybe someone special will happen around those dates...

Hello! A little late this week, lots of things going on for me and for staff behind the scenes. First off, give a well deserved thank you to Kibbi, he's been fixing a lot of tiny hiccups. There's still a few known errors we are looking into, please be patiance with us and the site as we work those things out.

Some general notes

Feral Bacon was added and ping about in the discord server when it hit the shop, and sadly all 20 are already gone. As a reminder, we limited to heavily to avoid floating of MYO requests for the new subtype for staff. More will be added on the first of December. If I think we're good to stock more ealier, I will ping in the discord when that happens, though currently it's unlikely.

A list of bug fixes:

• You can change your username again (once a month)
• Notifications sometimes not working
• Small backend stuff

Known Issue:

• 429/500 errors occurring during dailies and some other tasks; if this happens, just wait roughly 15~30 seconds and retry.

Please report any other findings in a report ticket on site or in the discord's #site-bugs <3

What's new

Crafting goodies! I usually don't mention these in the newsletter (as most people figure it out quite quickly), but there's some cool new trait items you can make in Crafting! Make sure to check them out!

November's prompt

Fall Back into Leaves
Fall Back just happened for all the parts of the world that have it, so why don't we fall back into the freshly fallen leaves all around us!? Draw a sap enjoying the fall time by playing in the leaves!

Hello! Spooky month is here so let's go have fun with Fall season joy!

Refreshes for the shop has already happened on the first. If the thing you wanted sold out, now is your time to snatch it up! Please note: Feral Bacon is listed in shop but is set to 0 stock. This is so that when it releases next month, people will have the price they need to save up for in an easy to find location.

Some general notes

I've been working on getting Epic items in shop for every trait. This includes items for Jester Ears and Fish Ears, 2 Epic traits that have been asked for to recieve items. More are still being added over item!

The price for "Break Your Face" has been deceased from 1500BS to 1000BS, the original price was higher to comp for it allowing two different traits, but since the traits can't be combined, the price was lowered to be closer to the 800BS for other Epic upgrade items.

October GAs will be allowed to make Feral adopts/customs this month!

What's new

One new magicial trait! Back Spines!

Back Spines!
Spikes and/or bones that grow along the back/spine of a Sapsidian.

Feral subtype!

Feral Subtype (or Feral subspecies) has been a long requested sub type and will NOT be the only subtype for Sapsidians! Here's some things to note about them:

• You can apply the subtype to any MYO slot with the Feral Bacon item.
  • The Feral Bacon item will be stocked in shops next month. Costing 5000BS each.
  • Their will be a limit to this item to avoid getting overwhelmed with approves. This limit will be raised with time.
• Feral Saps are of equal IQ/intelligence as other Saps.
• Feral Saps ALWAYS have their front claws out.

Pumpkin season! Draw a Sap having fun with pumpkins.
Are they baking pumpkin pie? Eatting pumpkins? Carving pumpkins? Up to you!

Hello, just a real short and sweat announcement.

The following will be removed when the Newletter is posted on October 1st:

• Rainbow Tear from the shop (if you haven't grab your 2, do so now)
• All 3 limited timed foraging areas (Underwater Crystal Cave, Beach!, and Ship Shard Grave)
  • Meaning Tears will no longer be availible.
• The prompt Pool Fun! will be over, which is another way to grab a Rainbow Tear.

You will be able to do the following:

• Use any Rainbow Tears you have collected
• Craft the Rainbow Tear at any time, as long as you have all items needed

September newsletter

Hello! It's that time of month, for all the refreshes and information about the going-ons! While there is a LOT going on, I'm going to keep this letter fairly brief as we have an on-going event The End of Summer and I don't want this letter to come out too late in the month.

With that being said, a small update. I likely won't always post newsletters on the 1st of every month, as depending on my schedule, this can be a diffcult task to make happen. Moving forward expect newletters to be within the first 3 days of the month CST time. Because of this, SOTM will always have 5 days leeway to give everyone extra time! c:

Some general notes

Hello, mostly just some rule updates here.

Don't bid what you don't have. We ran into a few issues where members have bidded site currency they don't currently have. Why we understand you might plan to quickly get it with some extra prompts, we ask that you don't bid amounts you don't currently have in your bank. This can unfairly spike up the bid for others currently bidding with you.

Trait information. All traits have more information listed for them if you click on their name. This includes things like how they can be used, if they can't be used alone, and any limits they might have. If you have any questions about a trait, it's likely listed there and I update that information when people ask about it for future members. If you would like information to be added to a trait, feel free to drop it in the suggestions channel.

Referencing other users' characters. This has been happening a few times over the course of the species, but please don't ask questions about designs you don't own. Some members have expressed discomfort with having their designs brought up in this manner. We don't want members to feel singled out for their designs being mentioned over things like how they drew a trait. If you have questions about an existing design you do not own, please use the ticket function instead. Thank you for understanding.

What's new

A couple new traits worth mentioning!

Container Parts!
Replaces parts of a Sap's body with a container that might hold things like water, plants, and food.

• Can't be more than 50% of the body
• Can't replace, or be located on;
  • Visor
  • Hook
• Can't have animals inside of the container, though small fish and bacteria are fine.

Insect Wings!
Add a set of insect wings, can be based on any real world insect. If using unique (uncommon) wings from a lesser known insect, please state so.

• Up to 4 wings.
• Can be stacked twice for up to 8 wings
  • Can't be combined with feathered or bat wing traits.

Shop refresh! I'm changing the stock numbers a bit this month, just to make it easier to keep up with on my end + we usually don't run out of more than 1 item a month. Ideally stocks will still be fine and if anything runs out, members will only have to wait a week for the refresh. Just trying things out differently.

With that note, items for the new magical traits will pop in sometime within a month's time. The insect wings will be a craftable item, so a bit of time is needed with those.

September's prompt

Stylish Fun! This month's prompt is a fun excuse to put your character in some new clothes! Keeping the simple BG requirement on this prompt to see how that goes as well.

Adopts and guest artists

Hello, expect the next GA apps to open around the 18~20th of this month!

With that said, we're moving things around in the server for adopts, which is why we didn't host GA apps this last month. We don't want to have new GAs on the team while we're switching a lot around to avoid confusion.

Please keep a look out for these changes and we'll make another discord announcement when the changes have been made.

August 2024 Newsletter!!

I didn't get to show it off in the last newsletter, as it wasn't done nor started, but take a look at the new site banner I'm sure you've seen already as you are currently on the site. (Unless, you're on mobile, then this might be your first time seeing it!) I did however get to show it off in the staff and guest artist (GA) applications held last month! August's prompt - stargazing

As Summer draws to a close, the weather at night is great for stargazing! Draw a sap enjoying the wonderful night sky!

Just like the last prompt was a bit different by asking you to draw to characters, this on is different by asking for a simple background!

What's new?

New traits of course! Members that have been around for a few months know that I slide in new traits and items over time to keep things fresh! This is a bigger release of traits, that are not only new, but limited!

Interducing Seasonal Traits!

Seasonal traits that item you use for them is tied to events and/or a given time of the year. But, because these items are more limited, there are multiple traits you can choose from with just one!

The Rainbow Tear!

This item allows you to give one of the following to a Sap or MYO slot:

• Electric Eel Tail
• Coral Horns
• Scales
• Webbing
• Fin Ears
• Gills

How do you get this item? Stay tune for an up-coming event later this month that will allow members to grab one, or more, in multiple ways!
